A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to go visit the little town of Mimbres; which is about 4 hours south of Monterrey. If you take a trip to Mimbres you will find a small ranch town in the midst of mountains populated with trees, blue skys, cactus, men herding their cattle, fields for crops, etc.
The people here are hard working. Those who came first cleared trees for their crops, built their houses either of logs or mud. They sort their own wheat and grind flour for tortillas, and they do the same with purple corn...it is cheaper to do all of this than to buy the flour...and I have to say they are better tasting too!
The people here are friendly, giving and hospitable. It was a blessing to spend time with. They wecolmed us in and became our friends. I hope to go back again.
Here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy! - Elisha
